Books for Prep

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent overview of this field
This textbook has been published in a new edition with 53 chapters covering a wide range of topics related to interventional cardiology. These chapters are organized into 6 sections, which include pharmacologic intervention, coronary and peripheral intervention, evaluation of interventional techniques, valvuloplasty and pericardial disease, outcome effectiveness, and emerging technologies. The chapter on historical perspectives by Richard Myler is a fascinating glimpse into the lives and struggles of the pioneers in this field, including Dr. Andreas Gruntzig. The chapters are well-written, with clear subtitles and photos. A selection of color photos is included at the beginning of the book; most photos are black and white. Each chapter has an extensive bibliography to support the review material presented. This book is an excellent addition to the library of the cardiologist interested in intervention.
