Books for Prep

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not even close to NREMT test questions
I bought this book as an additional study guide for the NREMT in conjunction with the emt-b website that works in conjunction with the course manual. The Kaplan book had simple questions with obvious answers in the choices given. The NREMT exam had difficult questions and the choices had either hairline differences between them or absolute opposite answer choices. Although I passed the NREMT, it was not with the aid of this book. I gained more from the review questions on the emt-b website.

I would not recommend this book to anyone studying for the NREMT exam.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I would HIGHLY recommend this book!
I purchased this book just prior to taking my National Registry Exam and it helped me tremendously! I love the layout of the book and the information it presents for the test. This study guide is WONDERFUL! I Highly recommend it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Review Book
This book has straightforward review chapters on the major topics of the EMT-Basic exam, as well as plenty of study questions and a review exam. It's definitely worth the money and the time.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Pass the Class, Not the National Registry
I've been working as an EMT for 5+ years now. I was able to answer the questions in the practice sets only because I knew the answers from work experience. But I was really frustrated with the wording of the questions. I would imagine that you could get pretty confused about the order of performing your ABCs after reading this book. The questions in this book aren't nearly as hard as the registry's bank of questions, but I would say the way they phrase the questions makes it twice as confusing. This book might be a nice reference to a student who is going through the EMT program, but not as a guide for the National Registry.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not one of the best
There are much better products out there. Choose one of them. This book does not go into detail, and doesn't say much about EMT info. More about tests in general. Not a great study help at all.
