- Pretty close to the real thingI found that the practice test questions in this book were pretty similiar to the questions I had on the National Registry. A couple were even identical. I only missed two more questions on the NR than in the two practice exams I took. However, the NR has I forgot how many hundreds of questions to choose from when putting together the test, so it is possible that your test will only have a few questions that are similiar to the ones in this this book. While it's a good study aid and lets you know what to expect come test day, don't rely on it for all of your studying. Rating: - Excellent ReviewI just took a state written exam in May/'02 and this book helped a TON. Believe it or not, many of the questions in the review were EXACTLY the same as those on the test. This is a good investment if you are looking to review for the EMT exam Rating: - Okay for reviewing, but tests are not like the NREMT test. You may find like I did that you did very well on the book tests (a couple of them I only missed 1 out of 150). Don't expect to ace the real thing. I passed on my first try, but I certainly did not ace it. Anyone who has experienced EMT State tests knows that the questions are much more complex than these practice tests. You find questions that will not have the answer you were taught in your class rather the next best answer. I even had a paramedic tell me that the EMT test is worse than the paramedic test because it's your first experience at these types of tests. Rating: - Book vs. EMT-1 testI found the book didn't do a great job in preparing me for the National Test. The tests in the book were a lot easier than the National Test. I would not really recommend this guide to someone trying to prepare for the National Test. Rating: - Great Study ToolProviding you use the book as intended, this is definitely a worthwhile investment for those taking the EMT-B exam. After taking the course, you are probably left with only your textbook to study and while there are review questions for each chapter, it won't compare to the 600 questions in this text. The "Learning Express Test Preperation System" chapter (#2)is kind of hokey, but nothing helps you prepare for a major exam like taking 4 major practice exams. In association with Amazon.com | |
