- More horrifying than the best Stephen King bookMany of us have heard bits and pieces of what's contained in this book -- chemical body burdens, unintended and disastrous side effects of drugs, toxic households, lead in toys, etc. -- but to have it all together, in one well-researched book, was literally more horrifying than the best Stephen King book. This book was an epiphany for me -- and I haven't had one of those in years. Rating: - Very InformativeI have learned a lot and it gave me other resources that I was needing. Rating: - The Hundred-Year Lie: How Food and Medicine Are Destroying Your HealthWow, this should be required reading for every HUMAN who eats food. It is well investigated and put together in a page-turner format. You will not be able to put this book down! The sooner you get EDUCATED in this field, the better your life will be. Once you have the info, and you know, then you can make decisions that are better for your health and your families health. Seriously, everyone should read this. I loved it and have told many friends. Rating: - A Troubling Must ReadI wondered if this book was going to be a hysterical anti-civilization book, but it was not. The author makes many valid points: We are seeing an increase of multi-symptom diseases, brain diseases and other odd aliments. And we don't have any idea how most of the chemicals we are exposed to react to each other and our bodies. This book is definitly a "wake-up call." Even if you finish this book thinking maybe the threat isn't as great as the author claims, you will still end up reviewing and altering your eating habits and chemical exposure. Rating: - Well researched truth that may save your 200+ toxin saturated life!As an engineer that lives and dies through a working knowledge of cause and effect, I have impatiently read through many books crying of our toxic environment with only bits and pieces of truth and the rest filled in with passionate fluff. This book, however, is well researched, using primarily professional medical and federal study information to show us the increasingly hopeless degree of the problem, a beautiful timeline showing/inferring a whole host of cause and effect issues, as well as a better path to prepare us for healthier living. As a result of this book, I researched several detox programs, setting on DrNatura's Detox Diet. After just 30 days on the colon cleanse/detox I had my eyeglass restrictions lifted from my license (which I've had for 20+ yrs). A more amplified section on how to find out your toxicity as well as your vitamin and mineral balance would really make this an excellent book. Still, I gave it a 5, since it is the best of the 7 books I've read on the subject of profiteering homicide by the chemical and processed food giants of the west. In association with Amazon.com | |
