- Horrible waste of moneyI should have read the reviews, then I would have known this was not a book with loving stories of dogs... it's just collection of writings by the man who wrote the Marley and Me book (and that book, while well written, is NOT a book for dog lovers either -- it details the stupid things humans do when they do not understand how to properly care for and train their dogs). This book is so bad I threw it out. Don't waste your money on it. If you want a lovely, loving book about a dog/human life together read Amazing Gracie -- that is a great book about a great dog and her great people. Rating: - Bad Dogs Have More FunWas disappointed in this book. What little it had about dogs was good but the title is very misleading. His newspaper columns are without a doubt very entertaining but the book is not about it's title. Rating: - There's a reason why people throw away newspapersThis is a very listless collection of newspaper columns that completely undermines the talent shown by Grogan in his memoir. Don't waste your money on it. None of the articles are long enough to give a fully rounded picture of their topic, and few tug at your heartstrings. Many are almost embarrassing attempts at humor. "Heavy-handed" is the phrase that comes to mind. Rating: - Grogan has a great style! This collection of articles written by John Grogan, of Marley fame, is a great read. While writing for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Grogan had quite a following. This compilation is a great way to follow his career in the Philly area. Rating: - Johns articles but not his bookThis is Johns articles written for a newspaper compiled in a book without his knowledge or endorsement. IF you are looking to read more of Johns works it is a good read. The cover was mislead me into thinking it was a second book written by John. However as other reviewers have stated there was litte to do with dogs, many articles however were thought provoking and great lessons on life. In association with Amazon.com | |
