This logical alternative to several limited-focus books blends a bullet-outline format students prefer in a review book with comprehensive paragraphs, as needed, for optimal preparation. Illustrations, charts, tables, graphs, mnemonics, and "Quick Hits" pearls for the clerkship speed and supplement learning. Ample content without superfluous detail enables students to readily evaluate and expand their knowledge of cardiology, pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology, hematology, neurology, endocrinology, rheumatology, nephrology, genitourinary disorders, fluids and electrolytes, dermatology, and musculoskeletal problems. A new section in this Second Edition presents 100 USMLE-style clinical vignette-based questions with answers. A color insert contains over thirty full-color images. A companion Website will offer the fully searchable text and color photographs. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Thorough, but also thoroughly boring to readUsed for internal medicine and step 2 preparation. I know people love this. I thought the bullet point format was very boring and not memorable to read. I had a hard time reading this book and making the information stick. More of a reference than anything, but at that rate you might as well be using UpToDate. If you like outlines, this book is probably for you! Rating: - The best review book for physician assistant students for the PANCE.I recently graduated from a Physician Assistant program and took the national board exam (PANCE). I had studied all of the recommended PANCE review books over and over, and needed something new. This book is the absolute best review book I have ever used, and is even better than most text books I've read. Thanks in part to this book, I scored in the 99th percentile in the country on the PANCE. I would recommend this book to both PA students and med students alike for board review. BUY THIS BOOK! ... Rating: - Great book for anybody in medicine!Step Up to Medicine can be used in almost any rotation during medical school. It is also a very great review for Step 2 or 3 boards. I keep it around because I have seen medical students and residents refer to it multiple times. Great buy! Rating: - This book is PHENOMENAL!I'm a 2nd year physician assistant student getting ready for rotations, and this book has everything i needed. It breaks down each major system in a bullet-style format and has plenty of info packed in. It's organized quite well and has some nice sections in the back with quick guides to things like antibiotic therapy, xray reading, common complaints, and so on. DEFINITELY worth getting. Its great bc it tells you which tests/labs are first line instead of just spitting out a ton of things in random ... Read More In association with Amazon.com | |
