Specific objectives included: Investigate effects of multiple disinfectants/oxidants including chlorine; Determine optimum disinfectant combination(s) ; Investigate and evaluate a selection of advanced technologies and determine their impact on distribution system water quality in terms of DBP formation; Determine threshold levels of source water quality and disinfection requirements; Provide a comparative cost analysis for the proposed solutions, Literature and current and future regulations were reviewed, and data analyzed from the participating water districts which utilize supplies from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in California.
