Product Description:
The United States work force consists of over 150,000 research administrators who manage the nation’s $100 billion annual investment in research and development. Research Administration and Management is written for any individual who is involved in the leadership, development, management and support of this research. This book will guide readers with information and motivation to gain further knowledge and develop their skills as research administrators.

This comprehensive text provides examples of concepts and case studies, a glossary of terms and acronyms, and references to books, specific journal articles, and relevant federal regulations. Topics covered throughout this text range from a review of research administration, to the infrastructure necessary to support the research, to project development and post-project plans.

Research Administration and Management is an excellent reference for research managers and administrators in colleges, universities, hospitals, and research institutes receiving federal research funds. Grant and contract funding groups will also benefit from the wide-range of information in this text.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A great, if hefty read
One of the best and really, one of the very few, books on research management out there. A must have for any current research administrator's collection and a great read for anyone just getting started or interested in a future in research administration.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Valuable Reference
If you institution conducts sponsored activity, this book will be a valuable resource and reference. A bit spendy, but thick.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Comprehensive
The first comprehensive, authoritative text on research administration - from pre award to technology transfer. A must have for all institutions conducting research and sponsored projects.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disappointing
I was much looking forward to this book, but I found it remarkably disappointing, particularly considering the price. It was so sloppily put together it makes one wonder how these administrators would ever survive if their career depended on getting grants.
