From the supplier: The problem of selecting an appropriate proxy for the median-voter-model variable 'median voter income' is addressed. The problem, which arises during the development of empirical public expenditure models, is solved by applying the Cox test for non-nested hypotheses to county expenditure data from five states. This determines whether the median voter belongs to the median income household or median income family.
